CBC's Improv Olympics. That performance also won her a Gemini nomination
for Best Comedy Performance in a Series or a Special.
This combination
of dramatic and comedic training combined with her background in improv
and stand-up led to the role of Morticia in The New Addams Family. Ellie
has appeared in numerous slightly less ghoulish roles on television,
in film and on stage: She has had roles in many popular TV shows including
The X-Files, The Commish, Police Academy, So Weird and among others

ERICA SIGURDSON
--Stand-up

Having been featured
on CBC's Madly off in All Directions
and the new CBC show Zed, Erica has now conquered half the Canadian
market. Best described as a "sugar coated razor blade', her cynicism
and silliness make for a hilarious commentary of life.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
JENN GRIFFIN ------Stand-up,

Alberta, Griffin moved to Vancouver in 1981 where she pursued a very
eclectic Bachelor of Arts degree at Simon Fraser University. She began

performed for Demolition Comedy along with his girlfriend, another funny
comedian Nikki Pearson.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SHECKY GREY ---Alternative
Stand-up
Shecky Grey is the quintessential punk rock comedian. He is a favorite
at rock concerts, theatres and cabarets. He is a regular on The Nardwuar
the Human Serviette Show and was featured in a Georgia Straight cover
story this year. He is loud, obnoxious, original and rips apart cliches,
conventions, and the vulnerable parts of live show business everywhere
he goes. Shecky has performed at Caroline's Comedy Club in the heart
of ritzy New York as well as at The Gladstone Hotel in the heart of
the ghetto in Toronto.
"If Shecky Grey ever auditioned for Saturday Night Live, Lorne
Michaels would call security." Vancouver Sun
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
GRAHAM CLARK ----Stand-up
photo unavailable
Graham has made
a strong entrance into Canada’s comedy scene. His friendly wit
and dry sarcasm have earned him stage time with the likes of Brent Butt,
Sean Majumder, Derek Edwards and Kristeen von Hagen and won him third
place in the Just For Laughs Homegrown Comic Competition. Graham is
also an award-winning screenwriter and host of The Laugh Gallery weekly
at el Cocal. He is allergic to many, many things.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PAUL BAE ----------Stand-up

Paul Bae represented
Vancouver in Yuk Yuk's Search For Canada's Funniest New Comic on the
Comedy Network. He was a semi-finalist in last year's San Francisco
Comedy Competition and can be seen this fall on two CBC specials; 'Sleeping
With The Elephant' and 'Western Alienation'.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PAUL BREAU-----Stand-up

Paul is recently back from a tour of New York city where he played several
comedy clubs and stomped out as many cockroaches. Having written for
"Alt. Comedy Lounge" at CBC's 120seconds.com plus "Blissfull
Ignorance" a play at the Vancouver Little Theatre and "Mugwumping"
at the Gastown Theatre, Paul's range of material and high-energy performance
is not to be missed. Or he will come after you with his huge left foot.

TYLER FORTIN-----Stand-up

Tyler has received adverse reactions from some audiences when they feel
he is portraying a disabled comedian and making fun of the disabled.
However, Tyler has the amazing ability to turn an audience around. He
breaks down stereotypes of the disabled by getting the audience to laugh
with him...not at him! Tyler is the winner of the 2001 Norman G. Brooks
Stand Up Comedy Scholarship Competition at The Laugh Factory in Los
Angeles.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SIMON KING ------Stand-up
High energy stream of consciousness comedy and wild impressions have
quickly become the trademark of this young comic’s almost atomic
performances. Although being rooted firmly in acting, the urge to spread
his own brand of “controlled madness” was far too strong,
and since he found stand up comedy he hasn’t looked back.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MARK GILLILAND ---Alternative
Sketch Comedy
Mark Gilliland is
Vancouver’s only one man sketch comedy troupe. He performs sketches
singly populated by dancers, mind readers, poets, porn theatre ushers,
newly divorced men, vagrants, chickens and mimes with a cartoonishly
dark style that reflects the bitter-sweet pathos endemic of existance.
He's also funny.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RYAN GILLAM
Ryan is weird. That's all you need to know. He's also planning to move
to Toronto. Better catch him while you can.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SEAN PROUDLOVE -----Stand-up
Sean has been doing
comedy for 6 years. Never concerned what the audience thinks, he is
considered a comic's comic. While he was in prison he was considered
an inmate's inmate. Sean has mainly toured on the West Coast. Other
comics have said he should go on tour across North America but they
just say that because they want to house sit for Sean while he is away.
If you want to see a comic who is original and unique then you must
see Sean Proudlove. Of course, it would be best if you saw him more
than once because sometimes he bombs. However, when he bombs it is always
the audience's fault as they were probably not listening or just stupid.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
CARTER HORTIE ------------Stand-up
Carter's resume
is impressive and reviews have been very good. Recently, the Georgia
Straight gave him a thumbs up - not bad for someone who didn't start
his career until the "ripe old age of 32."
He has appeared
in a number of venues across the province - including a few stints at
military bases, college campuses, and corporate functions - and in California,
Salt Lake City, Washington and Seattle. He's also co-hosted the 1998
NHL All-Star Fantasy in Vancouver and headlined the Granville Island
Octoberfest 1999.
Carter is the producer
and host of the popular 'Comedy Night' at the Jupiter Cafe on Davie
and Bute every Monday night. Performing sketch comedy on comedian Watermelon's
-'Grow Show' and Carter's own production
'The Debutant Lounge', is one of his favorite things to do.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
IRWIN BARKER ------Standup
One of Canada's top
stand-up comics, Irwin Barker is a Vancouver-based comedy writer and
performer. He started performing stand-up comedy in 1988 and has quickly
become one of Canada's top headliner acts, with a wealth of original
and clean comedy material.
Irwin has several
television and radio appearances to his credit, including CBC's "Comics"
a recent appearance on a Vancouver-based CBC TV special entitled "Western
Alienation", five appearances on CBC Radio's "Madly off in
All Directions" and writing and performing for CBC's "Definitely
Not the Opera."
